WAVE SCULPTURE BOWL - 1 DAY WORKSHOP, 6 - 7 HOURS

 

Exclusive workshop with only 5 participants

In this workshop you will learn the technique behind my Wave sculptures. You will create an organic sculptural bowl in white paper porcelain.

You will learn the following (I prepare the basic form for you before you arrive):
 

• How the form is built up using the coil method

• How and where to cut into the base shape to create a sculptural form with cut-out “leaves” that strongly influence the final expression

• Where to add new clay and how to manipulate and refine the overall shape

• How to use your fingers to shape the piece and achieve the characteristic thin, delicate expression with fine lines and thin edges
   

In contrast to the Leaf workshop, where we work within a more defined structure, the Wave workshop gives you, with my guidance, greater freedom to decide the final shape and expression. Most participants find this both exciting and inspiring. The workshop therefore challenges your freestyle skills in a very different way than the Leaf workshop.

As there are only 5 participants, there is full focus and plenty of time for individual guidance.
 

The workshop is suitable for both experienced potters and people with no prior experience. It is not aimed at professional potters. Most participants have never worked with clay before.
 

Please note that the workshop teaches the technique and construction method only. You should expect that refining the technique afterwards will require many additional hours of practice.
 

In terms of size and complexity, the Wave sculpture you make corresponds to a value of up to  1,200 euro when made by me.
 

The workshop therefore does not only give you new knowledge about ceramic techniques — you also take home a beautiful ceramic sculpture.

Clay and firing are included in the price.

DKK 3.250 / approx. 445 EURO (Including 25%)

The full amount is paid upon registration (so no payment for materials at site)
 

There will be coffee and sparkling water during the workshop.
 

PS: Around 90% of participants attend alone. We have a relaxed atmosphere, and everyone naturally talks to everyone.

Conditions:

 

• I reserve the right to cancel and refund the course if there are too few participants (this has never happened).

• Cancellation must be made no later than 14 days before the course start date. Later cancellations are non-refundable, regardless of the reason. I will always try to help find a replacement participant, but cannot guarantee this. You are welcome to find someone to take your place – just notify me of the new participant.

• Please bring your own apron or clothes that can get dirty – you will get very dirty!

• Lunch can be brought by you, or we can go out and get a sandwich during the lunch break. I will assist you.

• Fired sculptures must be collected on the date specified in the course description, between 17:00–18:00. Participants must bring their own packaging. If you cannot collect at the specified time, collection can only take place when the next group collects their sculptures.

• International shipping of fired pieces: 210 EUR outside Europe / 150 EUR within Europe, per piece.

• Arrival: I am usually very busy preparing everything before the workshop begins. You can therefore enter the studio 3–5 minutes before the start time. There are several coffee shops within 50 meters of the workshop if you arrive early.
