WAVE SCULPTURE BOWL - 1 DAY WORKSHOP, 6 - 6,5 HOURS

 

Exclusive workshop with only 5 participants

​​In this workshop you are making a organic wave sculpture in white paper porcelain.

You will learn the following (I have made the basic form for you before you come): ​

* How, by using the coil method, we add clay to the basic form which we now have to cut out, shape and refine 

* How and where to cut out the base shape and create a shape with "cut out leaves" that will have a great impact on the final shape

* Where to add new clay and how to manipulate the shape of the bowl

* How we use our fingers to shape and give the piece the characteristic thin expression with fine lines and thin ends

In contrast to the Leaf course where we are modeling according to a fixed shape, in the wave workshop, it is you as a student who, with my guidance, decides on the final shape and expression. Most students find this quite exciting. This workshop will therefore challenge your "freestyle" skills in a completely different way than the Leaf Workshop. 

It is not necessary to glaze the sculpture, as it is beautiful when it is completely raw. However, you can choose to let me glaze it for you when it is completely dry and ready for firing. It is only glazed on about half of the sculpture. If you want glazing, this costs DKK 600. extra, and is paid on the spot.

Since there are a MAXIMUM of 5 participants, there is full focus and plenty of time for you as a participant.

The workshop is aimed at both experienced potters, beginners and others creatively interested. Most participants have never worked with clay before. It is not aimed at professional potters.

Please note that the course only teaches you the technique and construction method. If you want to continue to wokring with this technique after the workshop, you must expect that it will require many hours of work to refine your technique and expression.

In terms of size, the Wave sculpture you make represents a price of up to DKK 8.000 when it is made by me.

The course therefore does not "just" give you new knowledge about ceramic techniques, you also get a nice ceramic sculpture to take home.

Clay and firing are included in the price. Euro 356 (aprox. DKK 2.700). The full amount is paid upon registration.

There will be coffee and sparkling water during the course. Lunch must be brought to the workshop by the student

PS. 90% come alone without a friend. We have a good time, everyone talks to everyone.

Conditions:

 

• I reserve the right to cancel and refund courses if there are too few participants. If you wish to unregister from the course, this must be done no later than 14 days before the course takes place. In case of later cancellation, the amount will not be refunded, regardless of the reason for cancellation. I will always try to help get someone else to take your place, but cannot guarantee it. You also have the right to find another participant to participate in your place. Just notify about new participant.

• Bring your own apron or clothes that can stand getting dirty -  you will get very dirty!

• If lunch is desired, this must be brought by you

• The fired sculpture must be collected on the date specified in the course description. It's always at between 17 - 18 o'clock. The student must bring their own packaging. Individual agreements for picking up the sculpture can not be made. If you cannot collect at the specified time, you can only collect the sculpture when the next group of students picks up their sculptures. Only course participants who come from far away, e.g. Abroad, Jutland or Bornholm, can make special arrangements for picking up the sculpture. 

• Arrival: You can enter the workshop at the earliest, 3 - 5 minutes before startup.
